REBAR A400 is a round rolled metal product in the form of corrugated rods with a diameter of 6-40 mm. It is made of low-alloy steels 35GS and 25G2S by hot rolling.
REBAR A400 belongs to what class A3. Products of this class are manufactured with a periodic profile, providing better adhesion to concrete compared to smooth analogues. The corrugated pattern looks like transverse protrusions of a sickle or ring shape, going in a spiral. Additionally, two longitudinal ribs are formed on the rods.
It is not recommended to connect rolled metal of this type by electric arc welding. During welding, the structure of the steel is significantly weakened, so the seams can crack under the influence of deformations.
A special weldable class A400C is used for welding.
A400 rebar is mainly used in the construction industry, in the construction of reinforced concrete structures. Due to the corrugated profile, rods of this class provide strong adhesion to concrete mixtures, so they are widely used for reinforcing blocks, beams, and other reinforced concrete products. Steel grades 35GS and 25G2S have a low yield strength, so REBAR of this class is not suitable for the construction of high-rise structures.
