Advantages of hot-rolled sheet
• is produced in different overall sizes in rolls and sheets, which allows you to select according to the necessary needs, even taking into account the chemical composition
• has high mechanical strength
• is processed in different ways (rolling, stamping, bending, drawing, welding, cutting)
• resistant to mechanical impacts, impact loads
• has heat resistance
• has a long service life
• It is these advantages that allow the use of hot-rolled sheet for the manufacture of blanks, parts, structures, both simple and complex configurations.
Classification
Hot-rolled sheet metal (hot-deformed) is differentiated by the following parameters:
• type of product (sheets, rolls)
• material of manufacture (carbon steel, low-, medium- and high-alloy)
• length (710-12000 mm)
• width (500-4400 mm)
• thickness (0.4-160 mm, with sheet metal with a thickness of 0.4 to 4 mm considered thin sheet metal, and thick sheet metal with a thickness of over 4 mm)
• manufacturing accuracy by thickness (normal, increased)
• flatness (normal, improved, high, extra high)
• edge nature (trimmed, untrimmed)
• strength group (normal quality and increased)
• finishing group (normal, increased)
• surface etching type (with unetched and etched surface)
• preservation method (without preservation and with conservation)
Hot-rolled sheet with a thickness of 0.4 to 3.9 mm inclusive is supplied in rolls, in sheets – over 4 mm.
The price for hot-rolled sheet is set taking into account the grade of steel from which the product will be made, its overall dimensions, manufacturing accuracy, taking into account the performance of additional operations. Rolled metal is supplied in rolls or sheets with a set of accompanying documentation (quality certificate).
